What are the ingredients of Zambroza?

Obviously, the main ingredient is Mangosteen, the "Queen of Fruits." However, the other ingredients are concord grape concentrate, red grape concentrate, blueberry concentrate, red raspberry concentrate, grapeskin extract, wolfberry lycium extract, sea buckthorn extract, grapeseed extract, green tea extract, apple extract, and sodium benzoate. Why these particular ingredients?

A company with 35 years in the herbal supplement industry has the experience to optimize this drink to simply be the best product of its kind on the market. Unlike some competitors, Nature's Sunshine does not have to hire a third party to develop and produce their products for them. Nature's Sunshine industry-renowned scientists worked on this product for about a year--pulling together herbs/fruits with well-known health benefits. They optimized the exact concentrations to achieve the best result--something that few companies have the ability to do...and independent lab tests prove it!

Unlike some competitive products, the ingredients were NOT chosen to be cheap "fillers", nor to improve taste, nor to improve the texture of the drink. Each and every ingredient was chosen because of a specific health benefit and to complement the action of the main ingredient mangosteen.

How does Zambroza compare to mangosteen drinks in retail stores?

In reality, we think it is an injustice that most of the drinks at mass retail outlets are even called mangosteen drinks. Testing of the Naturally Thai juice (the "mangosteen juice" blend sold in Costco, Wal-Mart, and Sam's--not to be confused with Nature's Sunshine Thai-Go sold in the United States) tested so poorly in third-party potency testing that it would hardly show up on a chart compared with what we would call the "leading brands." The old adage "You get what you pay for" is certainly true in this situation!

Does Zambroza contain any sweeteners, artificial flavors, or artificial colors?

Zambroza contains no artificial colors, artificial flavors, nor sweeteners.

How does Zambroza taste?

How much of each ingredient is in Zambroza?

The formula for Zambroza is proprietary. Nature's Sunshine does not give out the concentration of any ingredients. You should also realize that comparing ingredient lists is a very poor way to compare products--in fact, it is no way at all. So many things affect potency of the product--time of harvest, methods of manufacture, and other procedures are just as important as the ingredients themselves. The only sure way to make a quality product is strict quality assurance before, during, and after manufacture, then third party testing afterwards. What are the active substances in Zambroza?

There are many of them. Xanthones, a particular type of antioxidant, certainly are key compounds and have received lots of attention in the medical community. (See medical articles.) There are many other active antioxidants in Zambroza as well. Due to some other powerful ingredients in Zambroza, it is also rich in Flavonoids, Phenols, Polyphenols, Vitamins A, C, E, Beta Carotene, SOD (Superoxide Dismutase), Carotenoids, Anthocyanins, Proanthocyanins, Quercetin, Resveratrol, and more!

What kind of testing does Nature's Sunshine perform on Zambroza?

Nature's Sunshine has long had a reputation for producing the purest herbal supplements in the world. This requires much testing that competitors have neither the personnel, experience, equipment, time, nor finances to do. First, during development, the product is carefully tested for things like reactions between ingredients, ability to process without destroying active ingredients, shelf life, and more. Second, each and every batch of raw ingredients is tested not only for pesticides and other toxic substances--but also to ensure that the supplier has not "cheated" and supplied fruit that does not have the required active compounds in it. Third, during and after the manufacturing process, samples of the finished product are tested to ensure that everything meets Nature's Sunshine's high specifications.

This label certifies that Zambroza has had a full range of antioxidant analysis by the foremost third party testing lab in the US. This certifies and verifies product quality. What is the significance of this certification?

Any company can send in a few bottles of their mangosteen product to a third party such as Brunswick--bottles of their product that they have carefully prepared for that test--and frankly, bottles that are NOT representative of their product day in and day out.

When it is your health on the line, you want to know that each and every bottle you take is consistently potent, high-quality, and has it in the high ORAC, HORAC, xanthones, phenols, and bioflavonoids that you expect in such a health product. Brunswick Laboratories certification testifies of such quality.

What is the significance of ORAC and HORAC?

Evidence from data proves recommended doses are able to effectively quench various forms of free radicals. Zambroza is now tested by Brunswick Labs for ORAC and HORAC.

There are many different types oxygen free radicals formed in the body as a result of natural chemical reactions necessary for life. These oxygen free radicals are very reactive and can damage most cell structures to cause cancer, heart disease, and other age-related diseases.

These reactive oxygen species (ROS) include peroxyl radicals, hydroxyl radicals, superoxide ions, and singlet oxygen. Of these, the peroxyl radicals (ROO) are most abundant, and they are measured by ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity). Hydroxyl radicals (OH) actually are more damaging to the body, and they are measured by HORAC (Hydroxyl Radical Averting Capacity) ⁽¹⁾.

As mentioned earlier, peroxyl radicals and hydroxyl radicals will damage cellular structures. Antioxidants, such as those in Zambroza, are known as “free radical scavengers.” They are compounds that either react with and neutralize free radicals or reduce their formation. ORAC and HORAC are test systems to determine the relative amounts and effectiveness of antioxidants to counteract the oxygen free radicals formed in the body.

Recent test results from Brunswick Laboratories demonstrate Zambroza to have very high ORAC: 57,623 µmole TE/L (trolox equivalents/liter), and a very high HORAC: 11,078 µmole CAE/L (caffeic acid equivalents/liter).

These data provide evidence that Zambroza offers powerful antioxidant protection to the body against both the abundant peroxyl radicals and the very damaging hydroxyl radicals. This additional testing was conducted by NSP to provide further evidence to our customers that Zambroza is rightfully positioned as the premier antioxidant nutritional drink.

Who is Nature's Sunshine?

Nature's Sunshine Products had a humble beginning--started by Gene & Kristine Hughes in 1972 in the basement of their home. They were the first company to ever put pure herbal products into capsules. Obviously, the idea caught on, and Nature's Sunshine is the oldest and largest encapsulator of herbs in the world. Their headquarters is in Provo, UT, and their manufacturing facility is in Spanish Fork, UT.

What can you tell me about Nature's Sunshine manufacturing facility?

Nature's Sunshine facility is sometimes used by the Utah Food and Drug Administration as a model to other companies on how a supplement manufacturing facility should be operated! As recently as 2002, Nature's Sunshine received the "Supplement Manufacturer of the Year Award". Their research scientists have their offices located right there in the manufacturing plant. It is EXTREMELY clean, well-run, and impressive!

Compensation Plan/Rebate Questions

Do the rebates for buying Zambroza apply only to the first order?

No! The rebate applies each and every month that you order at least 135 PV of volume under your account number! Nature's Sunshine is proud to offer this benefit that the competition definitely does not. Furthermore, your rebate percentage on your personal purchases can increase if you share Zambroza with others and they also order.

If I sponsor people, how many levels deep does your plan pay?

This question only applies to "unilevel" type plans such as that used by several competitors. They must offer to go several layers deep--otherwise the compensation plan loses any attractiveness at all--except to the people at the top. The Nature's Sunshine comp plan pays you from 5%-30% on the orders of people that you bring into the business--not just on the first order--but ALL orders. It pays out about 59 cents for each dollar of product sold. The majority of that goes to the distributors who are doing the most work with those customers. We recommend that distributors new to Nature's Sunshine call their orders in directly to the Canadian office at 800-265-9163.

What if some of my distributors do not perform?

You do not have to have 3 "Legs" of distributors ordering $200 of product on Autoship each month like one of our main competitors in order to get maximum commission. The compensation plan is built so that discontinuity by a successline distributor affects you minimally.
